What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a super affective way of exfoliating the skin by a highly trained practitioner using a surgical blade to gently scrape away all the dead skin cells and vellus hair (fuzz) from the surface of the skin which can block pores and make the skin look dull and flaky.
What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?
After the treatment, the absorption of tropical products is greatly increased, the immediate reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, clear pores, smooth fresh radiant skin with a youthful brighter complexion. Dermaplaning also primes the skin for further treatments such as chemical peels.

Any client who wishes to improve the appearance of the skins surface whether dry flaky skin, blocked pores, fine lines and wrinkles, fine hair removal or just that glowing fresh look.
What are the risks associated with Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning treatments are very safe, with minimal side effects or risks, this is provided the treatment is performed by a fully qualified and trained practitioner. The treatment carries the risk of change in pigmentation if the skin is not protected with a high SPF cream after treatment with excessive exposure to the sun or sunbeds.
How is Dermaplaning performed?
After an initial consultation, the surface of the skin will be thoroughly cleaned and prepared before the practitioner begins to lightly scrape away all the dead skin cells, dry flaky skin and fine hair with a specially designed dermaplaning blade, once complete a collagen face mask will be applied. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. The treatment can also be combined with a chemical peel to maximise the results which will take approximately 1 hr in total.
What are the side effects following a Dermaplaning treatment?
Dermaplaning treatments carry very few side effects, the area treated may be slightly red and feel a little dry immediately after treatment but this will soon settle and fade.
How soon will I see the results after treatment?
The results will be seen immediately after treatment.
How long will the treatment last?
The treatment removes up to 3 weeks of dead skin cells so the results will last for approximately 4 weeks, although with a good skin care regime the results can last up to 6 months.
How Long is the down time after treatment?
There is no downtime after dermaplaning.
