Which Areas Can I have Treated?

  • Crow’s feet
  • Eleven lines
  • Bunny lines
  • Gummy smile

What should I expect?

All clients will require a Face to Face consultation with our prescriber doctor. Clients will not be treated without a prescription. Our aim is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our clients in line with current HEE Guidelines.

The consultation will consist of various medical and health questions to make sure each candidate is suitable to have the anti-wrinkle injections procedure.

The practitioner will then perform your treatment (Azzulure) using a very fine medical grade sterile needle which causes very little discomfort or pain to the client. The procedure takes approximately 15 minutes.

Will the treatment be painful?

The use of skin cooling with a cold pack or a topical local anaesthetic cream will minimise any discomfort during the treatment.

What are the risks of Botulinum Toxin treatment?

Botulinum toxin is a very safe and highly regulated drug, with minimal side effects or risks, this is provided the treatment is performed by a fully qualified and trained practitioner. Common temporary side effects can include mild pain and redness “erythema” at the injection sites and mild bruising which will soon ease and fade.

Other risks include ‘over treatment’ of an area, which may give a frozen look that is undesirable for the majority of clients, weakness of muscles around the treated areas can also occur if clients ignore aftercare advice. Allergic reactions to botulinum toxin are very rare. Some clients may develop natural antibodies to some forms of botulinum toxin which will affect the results of treatment, this can be overcome by switching to an alternative form of botulinum toxin.

When will I see the results?

Botulinum toxin starts to work in 5–7 days after treatment with maximum effect at 14 days. You should see a great improvement and softening of lines and wrinkles at this time however deep lines and wrinkles could take 4-6 weeks.

How long will the results last?

The results will last approximately 3-4 months with repeat treatments required at this stage to maintain and improve results.

What to expect after the treatment?

Immediately after the procedure small red marks appear on the skin, this is where the fine needle has entered the skin, in some cases very small little bumps where the product has entered the skin, for this kind of procedure this is normal and will subside over the next 24hrs. Occasionally slight bruising can also occur, this will subside 3-5days after treatment with clients advised to use arnica cream twice a day.

After every treatment, a full in-depth after care leaflet will be given to every client. We are always on hand to answer any questions or concerns and to give advice or follow up appointments to all our clients.

Note

Following your botulinum toxin injections, a 2-week follow-up appointment with your practitioner is advised. At this time, a ‘top up’ (up to a maximum of 20 units) treatment may be required. The ‘top up’ treatment is included as part of your initial treatment costs. However, after this 2-week period, any additional treatment will be chargeable. It is the client’s responsibility to attend your follow-up appointment.
